My Set Up

Salut a tous!

I will attempt to describe my set up as best as possible as requested by Dominic Hardy. Here is the signal chain:
All the guitars I use have synth access; the Parker has a GK3 factory fitted, the Godin has RMC saddles, and the Ibanez a retrofit GK3. This means I can blend the standard signal from the jack with the GK signal at all times.
I run a wireless unit for the magnetic signals, and obviously a standard GK cable for the rest (wish I had a wireless GK).
The wireless return (magnetic and piezo from Parker and Godin) is split with a Y cable to the Axe FX2 and a direct signal goes to one of the channels of the 2 AER Domino2 Chanel 1, this allows me to have greater control over my acoustic tones. Not displayed in the diagram is a simple Ernie Ball Jnr Volume pedal which takes care of volume control for the acoustic signal. The Axe FX2 is then routed to 2 Atomic Reactor FR for the left and 2 for the right.
The GK plugs straight into the Roland US-20 allowing me to choose between the VG-99 or the GR-33 or a combination of both. The VG-99 then gets routed to a split box where the signal goes to the Axe FX2 and directly to the 2 AER Domino2 channel 2. This way I can use the VG-99 as just a guitar modelling module if required depending on the patch used going to the Axe FX2, or use a straight tone by-passing the Axe FX2. The GR-33 synth tones go directly to channel 3 of the AER Domino2 amps.
I use the RC3 to generate pre-recorded loops or backing tracks which is connected to channel 4 of AER Domino2 amps.
This set up allows a lot of control and layering of tones, whilst keeping clarity. It is not unusual for my sound to carry a detuned guitar signal from the VG-99 to the Axe FX2 layered with synth sounds from the GR-33 over top. The Mission Engineering hooked up to the Axe Fx2 will work as either a volume, wah, or fx blend control.
I have to blame Dominic in some ways for this monster rig, as I have viewed many of his YouTube videos and acquiring similar gear to him. I was initially going to upgrade from the VG-99 to the Axe FX-2 and sell the Roland, but as Dominic mentioned to me some time ago the combination of both units is rather unique and the possibilities are really quite amazing when using both at the same time.[image][/image]
Not the easiest of set ups to take on the road, but whilst most of my work is carried out in the studio I do down size the rig for live situation.
The search for tone is never ending though; right now I can’t imagine anything else I would need, great combinations are available to me, some might look at this rig as overkill but the way I see it:
NO LIMITATION, NO COMPROMISE
